In the work «Loneliness», which illustrates Kamyshnaya's poem of the same name, the artist creates the image of an old, abandoned house, comparable on an allegorical level to the poet's soul. This is that rare instance when the artist «sees poetry»; a certain illusion is created that he is inside this house, knowing everything about who is grieving within it and what they are experiencing. «Loneliness»
As if fallen dead, The day lies stretched out— And silence, and upon the wall A mysterious shadow. There, in solitude, a star Trembles with its ray— Buried in the worlds, It seems to me a dream.
Just so, impossibly toward you (Far — no further), I flicker in eternity with fire And send forth light.
