Anna Kolesnikova is the author of the idea and concept behind the project embodying the world of contemporary Russian poetry in works of art. Carefully nurturing her collaboration with the participating artists and piecing together its universe, Anna built it from the ground up over the course of ten years.
The works by painters, sculptors, and enamel artists from Russia, Germany, and the United States presented in the project are not illustrations of the poems, but rather a dialogue among authors with different worldviews, life experiences, and professional schools.
The exhibition design, created by the renowned graphic artist and Favorsky Prize laureate Vasily Evgenyevich Valerius, plays a special role in the project, allowing all the works to come together into a cohesive and harmonious space.
Many songs and romances have been written to Elena Kamyshnaya's verses, and her poetry is featured in various theatrical productions; therefore, the project's exhibition space was designed to accommodate musical and theatrical events.
The exhibition project «The Inextinguishable Candle» was first opened in Elena Kamyshnaya's hometown in 2014. Since then, «The Inextinguishable Candle» has continued to burn, warming audiences and listeners around the world.
