At the Bakhrushin
«The role of the head of the world's largest theatre museum -
of the A.A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum, Dmitry Viktorovich Rodionov, became truly defining for me. Under his guidance, I progressed from a senior researcher in the museum collections department, where I learned to recognize and select the most important evidence of theatrical history, to Deputy General Director for Research, coming to understand the museum as a living research and educational center.
It was also thanks to Dmitry Viktorovich that my teaching career began. It was he who, in 2016, passed on to me his signature course «Producing Exhibition Activities», which he taught at the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio, opening the doors to the wonderful world of Russia's higher theatrical school, a community of outstanding educators and exceptionally talented youth — a unique world of theatrical education.
Dmitry Viktorovich Rodionov, General Director of the A.A. Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museum from 2007 to 2021.

I am sincerely grateful to Dmitry Viktorovich Rodionov for his trust, support, and recognition of my professional achievements, and for being the one who initiated my nomination for the state award — the Medal of the Order «For Merit to the Fatherland», II Class.
This experience became a milestone in my professional growth and led me to reimagine the exhibition space as a living dialogue with everyone who discovers the museum, whether they are a researcher, a casual visitor, or a theater university student.

During my tenure at the BTM, I worked across a remarkably broad spectrum of museum disciplines: from collections acquisition and research and methodological work to the publishing of books and catalogs. I created exhibitions and displays, represented the museum at forums, conferences, and government meetings, and managed various departments and divisions. The sheer number of diverse projects is simply impossible to count.
Here I will tell you about just a few, which are especially dear to me.

NEW MUSEUM OF THEATRE in the Republic of Abkhazia
I consider the New Museum of the Fazil Iskander State Russian Drama Theatre, which opened in Sukhum on August 26, 2025, to be one of the most cherished projects of my professional life. This is the first international project of the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum's «New Museum of Theatre» program, implemented with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Russia and Abkhazia, and an important landmark on the map of cultural dialogue between the two countries.

NEW MUSEUM OF THEATRE in Yaroslavl
On June 30, 2025, one of the most beautiful projects appeared in my professional biography. In Yaroslavl, in the building of the Fyodor Volkov Russian State Academic Drama Theatre, a new permanent museum exhibition prepared by the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum was opened. The project was implemented as part of the Federal Programme «New Museum of Theatre», with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and was timed to coincide with the 275th anniversary of the Volkov Theatre — Russia's first professional theatre.
LAND OF FATHERS. CHECHEN THEATRE. YESTERDAY. TODAY. TOMORROW
For the first time in Russia, an exhibition project was created dedicated to the professional theatrical art of the Chechen Republic, revealing the profound connection between national Chechen drama and Russian and global humanistic traditions. For the first time in history, audiences in Moscow were given the opportunity to see objects of Chechen theatrical heritage from its origins to the present day.
